Painting Outside Inside is composed of software written by David Lobser, hardware made in collaboration with Yotam Mann, and original drawings in homage to the promised cicadas that never came to NYC in summer 2013. Users drag a physical paintbrush along physical canvas to create digital brushstrokes made up of programmatically animated and looped images of trees, flowers, leaves patterns, and cicadas.
